Aren’t these pretty to look at? To me, they look like chocolate gems. And wait till you taste one. Bites of heaven in your mouth…
And bonus! They’re made with healthy ingredients so you don’t have to feel guilty for eating them. But if you’re trying to be weight conscious or you’re trying to limit your intake of sugar, use some caution. Even natural sweeteners like maple syrup, honey and coconut nectar have high levels of sugar. But I’ve also added cinnamon to this recipe because it’s been proven to control blood sugar.
I experimented with a few different combinations, but this recipe turned out perfectly every time for me. The perfect level of softness to call it fudge. And if you don’t have candy molds, simply pour into another small container and cut into squares. But I have to be honest, candy molds make these so much more fun to eat. The only downside to this treat is that it melts quickly so it doesn’t travel well.
By the way, I have no idea how long this keeps because I’ve never been able to keep a batch in the refrigerator for longer than a week. 🙂
